Aaron Tesser & The New Jazz Affair

Aaron Tesser & The New Jazz Affair is a project born in January 2007 when Aaron Tesser, saxophonist and composer, met the DJ / producer Gianluca Viani. The sound is catchy vocal Jazz, falling into what nowadays is commonly called Nu-Jazz, therefore closer to the sound of the Club-Dancefloor rather than traditional Jazz.
The first album, “Lookin ‘Ahead“, signed to the Italian label IRMA Records, was officially released in November 2008, and generated immediate interest by entering the Playlists of broadcasters around the world. In particular, songs such as “Everlasting Rose” and “Stella” (the two singles from the album) have also been included in dozens of compilations in Italy, Spain, Germany, Russia, Japan, etc. In the summer of 2009, Aaron Tesser & The New Jazz Affair were invited to the Milano Jazzin ‘Festival; the success achieved on the Festival led them to be invited at Monte Carlo Nights, the leading jazz radio program on Radio Monte Carlo, where they were interviewed by the host Nick The Night Fly and performed.
In autumn 2010 the new album “Children” was released, again by IRMA Records.
The record looks like a great collection of intense and enthralling melodies coming out of the hand of the leader, the guitarist Lino Brotto and the singer Fabrizio Rispoli. The first single “Lights and stars” has long been present in the playlists of many European radios, in Russia, Israel, USA, etc. At the end of 2011 it is worth noting the inclusion of “Lights and stars” in the Best Jazz Recommendation 2011 of the famous English site JUNODOWNLOAD. The covers of this album, especially the song “All night long“, have achieved great success in streaming platforms and related playlists.
In 2015 the band released its third album: “Love map”. This album sees some changes, in fact it’s signed to the Milan based label RNC Music and focuses on a more funky sound, a little different from the band’s path, for this reason it came out with the slightly different name of Aaron Tesser New Jazz Affair.
In December 2018 the new album “Back to the J Hotel” gets released, but this time again under the name of Aaron Tesser & The New Jazz Affair due to the fact that there’s a sort of coming back to the original sound of the band.
The album was anticipated by the release of two singles, the covers “I got you” and “We don’t talk anymore“. In particular, “I got you” entered the charts of many countries including: 1 in Italy, 12 in Germany, 17 in Australia, 12 in South Korea, 45 in Canada, 49 in Japan and it also entered the rankings in Great Britain.
“We don’t talk anymore” and the original “I don’t want to lose you” have also entered the charts of many countries such as: Germany, Japan, Canada, Great Britain, South Korea, Mexico, Turkey (“I don’t want to lose you” # 1 iTunes Jazz Chart), Australia, etc. The entire album, in January 2019, one month after its release, entered the iTunes Jazz chart in the Netherlands, Thailand and Japan.
The cover “Friday I’m in love” entered the iTunes Jazz Chart1 in 2024.
